A library in progress // Istanbul

An exhibition that was part of an open studio day at Platform Garanti residency, Istanbul.
 
Wooden framing devices covered with transparent fabric and paint on cotton are positioned in front of the windows of the exhibition, influencing the light atmosphere in the space. The wooden frames are remnants from Platform Garanti's library project from the year before. Together with the piece, books on the contemporary Turkish art scene as well as a transcript of an interview with Banu Cennetoglu from BAS/Bent, archive and publishing house for artists’ books, are presented. Seats are offered for reading.
 
The books had been collected to become part of the Contemporary Arts Library in Prishtina.
