Ink and acrylic on cotton, each 85 x 120 cm
Hpup, 2007, Japanese paper, cardboard
Four poster-sized paintings and a sculpture were the last in a series of works on the formal language of German architect Hans Scharoun.
With the promise paintings, I directly referenced the explosive formal language of Scharoun’s black and white drawings, by recombining them and blowing them up into colorful poster-sized paintings. Next to the paintings, a star-shaped sculpture made of hand-dyed japan paper stands loosely stuck together.
